A high Fantasy epic in short story form
As he exits the forge, something catches his eye to his right.

It’s a Skyman!
“How exactly did you make that shot?” Matthew blurts out between sips.
“Bloodline magic, I never miss.”
“Please do me one favor!” Roasa asks.
“Name it ma’am.” Stephan responds.
“Bring back the horned one alive, so I can kill him myself.”
“I’ve wondered why you have a negative outlook on knights, but didn’t you say you are one?” Crimson asks.
“Your Highness, Prince David is missing.” Marco interjects.
“We have to take a break; I’ve been awake for nearly two days.” Aero states.
“We do need a break… but just a break. When we start back up, I want you to be in the back of the wagon. We have to get further away from the capital than this.” Stephan responds.
His fathers’ stories didn’t do the forge justice. His father underestimated by at least half the size. The problem with legends is that they typically get exaggerated greatly. Kobi is surprised to finally see something that lives up to legend, and this one exceeds by a long-shot.
Aero is close enough to Matt to smell the ale on his breath. “Have you been drinking all night Matt?”
“Just most of the night, and you will thank me for it later.” Matthew responds.
“The future of the kingdom is in your hands. You’re one second away from killing the King, little Dave and yourself, so sit still and speak softly. Hard words here will have John Henry sitting on the throne by morning.”
“Matt, how many have you had to drink?”
“Before I got here or after?”
