Marching Orders

“The people are already calling it the Night of the Black Sky.” Yorba says to the Court. “How do we know that it was just one night?” Rune asks. “That’s a good question, we will find out soon.” Queen Asna states. “Rumor is that it started in the west.” Matthew adds. “We must send aContinue reading “Marching Orders”

David’s Imbalance

“I’m sorry, we have been at this for days with hardly any breaks. How many hours have we been going in this session?”

“I’ve been in this cave for a thousand years; I don’t think I am the best judge of time.”

“I guess not. I’m just tired.”

“It’s more than that. You’re so conflicted. You are at war within yourself. Go, rest… I have a spell that I need to work on for you, it will help you focus. Spend the night in your camp and return to me at daylight.”

First Court

Asna steps over to her and her husband. She places her hand upon his shoulder. “This ancient law has seen many good men and women live secret lives in fear that their true nature would be revealed, and they would pay the consequences. It is therefore the decision of the crown to abolish this law and allow love to reign in the hearts and minds of all the people of Avodroc. On behalf of my husband, I pardon Prince David and Ser Stephan and restore their honor and reputations. They will no longer live in fear and shame. The same goes for all who love in this manner. Today, love finally wins.”

Opposites Attract

“Forgive my interruption, but I’ve had guest with me all morning. They were rescued at the battle and have been riding in my carriage. Since we stopped, I thought I would take the opportunity to introduce them to the Queen.” David states

“Of course, there is room in my carriage. Please send them in.” Queen Asna replies.

“Queen Asna, this is Raven Summerset, but she prefers to go by the alias Yorba. The gentleman is Rune, you will remember him from when we spoke about our time at the Old Palace prior to coming into Meego. He was the man with the axe and bear.”

Ser Robert’s Arrogance

Robert struggles to gather respectable clothes out of the pile he has lying on the floor of his tent. If he were sober, he probably wouldn’t bother since he knows they are all nasty. As he fails to find something to wear, a thought crawls through his mind. He misses the comforts of the Capital so bad; he misses his cleaning ladies and his bed. He misses rubbing elbows with the other knights of the Capital at Maverick’s.

The horn blows again.

“Somebody shut that idiot up! We heard you!” Robert shouts.

Meego #1

“Dabir, may I present my staff, my knights- Ser’s Stephan, Aero, and Matthew with the squire Will. I present the current Queen, Rain…”

“I am sorry, David, but Meego refuses to recognize a queen who isn’t a daughter of Meego.”

David is startled by Dabir’s comment. He had hoped to start a relationship with him on good terms, but he made a misstep almost immediately.
